Travis Scott is turning a setback into an opportunity. Following his arrest in Miami, the rapper quickly capitalized on the incident by releasing new merch. That’s right. Fans can now get their hands on a “FREE THE RAGE” t-shirt featuring Travis Scott’s mugshot.
He clearly isn’t fazed over what happened in Miami. After being released from jail, the star updated his website with a new top featuring an altered version of Travis Scott’s mugshot. The original image showed him with no expression. However, he’s since had it changed to make it seem like he’s flashing a huge smile. The updated mugshot includes the phrase, “It’s Miami,” which is what Scott reportedly told police offers after being taken into custody.
Why Was Travis Scott Arrested In Miami?
Scott, whose real name is Jacques Bermon Webster, was arrested in Miami on Thursday morning. According to ABC News, the “SICKO MODE” rapper was charged with disorderly intoxication and trespassing after starting trouble on a yacht. Officers who arrived at the scene allegedly sensed a “strong smell of alcohol” on Scott’s breath.
Since the person who called the authorities didn’t want to press charges, the star was just asked to leave the area. While Scott initially appeared to comply, he later returned to the scene and stirred up trouble again by “yelling obscenities.” Since his behavior only grew more “erratic” as the night went on, police were forced to lock him up at Miami-Dade County jail. However, Scott was released shortly afterward on a $650 bond.
Despite the media attention surrounding his arrest, Scott appears to be doing just fine. Following his release, the rapper reacted to his arrest on X by simply writing, “Lol.” His latest merch drop further proves he’s able to look back on the incident with a sense of humor.
