Bill Gates seems to have entered a new alliance with Beatles’ frontman Paul McCartney through his daughter. The youngest daughter of the tech mogul Phoebe Gates recently went official with her boyfriend, Arthur Donald. Donald happens to be the eldest grandson of none other than McCartney.
Phoebe confirmed their relationship in an interview with Nylon Magazine to celebrate her graduation from Standford. In a graduation photo diary shared with the publication, the 21-year-old added an image of Donald giving her a piggyback ride. “My boyfriend, Arthur, giving me a lift post-ceremony,” she wrote in the description. She followed up with a more formal photo of them posing outdoors during the graduation ceremony. The Standford graduate donned a gorgeous silk sky-blue dress, while Donald opted for a navy blue blazer with a matching t-shirt underneath and a pair of black slacks. He wrapped his arms fondly around his girlfriend. “With Arthur, he cleans up nicely,” she gushed.
This isn’t the first time Phoebe has publicly celebrated her relationship with the 25-year-old. In October 2023, they sparked dating rumors when she shared a photo dump from a Paris vacation. A Polaroid photo captioned “Paris on film 💙” showed the lovebirds posing on a balcony. Unlike Phoebe, Donald keeps a low profile and has a private Instagram page with about 700 followers.

As mentioned earlier, Donald is McCartney’s first grandchild from his daughter Mary and her ex-husband, TV producer Alistair Donald. He is a graduate of University College School and Yale University. According to People Magazine, he works as an investor at the Collaborative Fund. Donald previously interned at Lucasfilm and worked as an analyst at Beehouse and Goldman Sachs. Donald has three younger brothers, Elliot, Sam, and Sid.
Although he is low-key, Donald has had his fair share of dating Hollywood nepo babies. Before Phoebe, the investor was linked to Ava Phillipe, the daughter of Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe. In 2019, Donald and Ava were photographed during a date night in Mayfair, London. They enjoyed a stroll in Mayfair.
