While exploring and surviving the world with your Pals, you’re bound to find the Dog Coins currency sooner or later. Finding them is one thing, but spending them is another, as most Merchants won’t accept them. You might wonder, what can these weird chips be used for? Is this some kind of Web 2.0 cryptocurrency trick? Turns out, you can use the Dog Coins you get all over Palworld‘s Palpagos Islands for some exclusive items.

Palworld: Where to Get Dog Coins

Before the Palworld 1.0 update, Dog Coins could only be found on Sakurajima Island. Now, they’re available across the Palpagos Islands through two main sources:
- From looting Junkyard/Scrap Piles.
- By catching Mimogs.
As you can infer from the name, Junkyard or Scrap Piles are just a pile of junk that you can loot. However, they actually don’t spawn randomly and only respawn after 5 real-time hours. So, unfortunately, no, you cannot savescum Junkyards for Dog Coins.
A single Junkyard usually drops 2-6 Dog Coins. They usually also contain Arrows, Pal Sphere, Gold Coins, Copper Keys, Simple Bait, Nail, and Paldium Fragments.

Mimogs, too, now spawn across most major regions of the Palpagos Islands, with a few exceptions. You won’t find them on smaller islands like the Hill of Beginnings, Seabreeze Archipelago, Marsh Island, or their surrounding islets. They can also appear near the World Tree, although they’re much rarer there.
Defeating Mimogs won’t drop Dog Coins; instead, you must capture them before they run away. Thankfully, at the very least, these chest-shaped mimic dog Pals are very easy to spot once they show up. The best way to catch one is by stunning them with a Rocket Launcher while wearing a Ring of Mercy to keep them at 1 HP. Throw a Hyper or better Spheres to make sure it won’t escape. Otherwise, setting up Hanging Traps works great too.
You’ll get 14-21 Dog Coins from low-level Mimogs in Palworld, while level 60 and above can give you more than 100 Coins per capture.
