Salma Hayek made BAFTA headlines for both enduring a wardrobe malfunction and joking about it two years ago. In March 2022, the MCU actress sizzled in a plunging velvet gown as she attended the annual British event, dolling herself up in an exquisite gown, but seemingly suffering a mishap.
When a “gust of wind,” per Yahoo! blew Salma’s slit dress up, fans got a view of her black lace underlining, something the Hollywood star tried to remedy. Bravely sharing photos of the incident to her Instagram, Salma made light of the whole thing, joking about how trying to fix one thing can lead to another messing up. The Eternals star, 57, has disabled comments to the post.
Salma Hayek Shows Instagram Her Dress Malfunction
Looking ravishing in a Gucci gown that hugged her every curve, Salma sizzled in her fitted, long-sleeved look. Opting for vibrant purples that offset lace accents on the bust and sleeves, the A-lister flaunted her hourglass figure in high heels, showing off her slim waist and fierce assets while flashing her toned legs.
With a racy slit showing Salma’s black platform shoes, the dress was also doing wonders for Salma’s toned shoulders — here, structured peak detailing forming raised sleeves accentuated the Mexico-born star’s figure.
Salma wore her dark locks swept up into a bun, keeping glam with plenty of matte makeup and dramatic dark eyeliner as she defied her age.
‘An Effort To Cover Something’
Sharing both a posed photo and one of herself desperately trying to fix the nightie-like lace layer she’d accidentally flashed, Salma wrote: “Sometimes in an effort to cover something other things show up more. Sometimes by covering up some things others are taught more.”
Hayek also tagged luxury Italian designer Gucci, plus the BAFTAS.
Salma has strong ties to Gucci, and not in the way that Gucci ambassador Miley Cyrus does. Billionaire husband François-Henri Pinault owns Kering, a company which itself owns luxury brands including Gucci and Balenciaga, plus Bottega Veneta.
As to her figure, Salma is confident. “I love the word ‘curvy’; it’s artistic. It’s a beautiful image, there is a flow to it. A straight line can be boring. You have to think about energy, the beauty of sound. Sound doesn’t travel in lines—it oscillates,” the Frida star has stated.
Salma’s lighthearted malfunction photos earned her over 500,000 Instagram likes. Also sending a like was Oscar winner Halle Berry.
