Void Intercepts are the most crucial raid mission that players need to undertake for rare crafting materials. This is the place where you can spend Amorphous Materials and amass items for Ultimate Weapons and Descendants. While most raid bosses’ fights can be straightforward, some can be trickier to defeat. Our guide will point out the most important things to note for the Dead Bride fight in The First Descendant, including her Frenzy weakpoint.

Before you jump into the Dead Bride Void Intercept with fellow Descendants, we suggest taking a look at your gear first. Dead Bride is a Chill element Colossus, so it’s best to bump up your Ice Resistance. As you can expect, she is also weak against Fire damage; avoid attacking her with Ice weapons or Descendant skills, like Viessa‘s.

  • Recommended Level: 37-38 or above.
  • Recommended Attribute Resistance: 1,600 Chill Resistance.
  • Weak Against: Fire (effective), Electric (normal).
  • Weak Point Type: Burst.
  • Strong Against: Chill (resist), Toxic (not effective).

Now that you’ve spawned inside the Void Intercept arena, you’ll notice it’s flooded with lava. Yep, don’t step on it as it deals damage; you don’t want to burn yourself to death.

The Dead Bride boss fight in The First Descendant is actually pretty easy, she works just like lower-level Colossi. However, she is a bullet sponge with a really huge health pool and her Frenzy phase is annoying to deal with.

First, let’s take a look at Dead Bride basic movesets in The First Descendant:

  • If she puts up a spinning ring above her head, that means she’ll start shooting ice shrapnel toward everyone on your team. You and your teammates will be hit by ice three times in a row in a short interval. Keep moving and hide behind pillars; Ajax players can put up a shield that will block her attacks. Don’t stay too close though as she’ll end it with an ice explosion around her.
  • When she throws her hands to the side, she will shoot a volley of six rockets at her target. Again, keep moving as it can easily destroy your shield. Ajax’s shield skill can hold around three waves of them. The rockets will also leave ice crystals that can damage you.
  • If she holds her left, non-cannon, arm, then she’ll shoot out high-speed rockets at her target.

Once the purple bar is filled and Dead Bride is in Frenzy, that’s when this The First Descendant boss raid gets ugly. She will teleport to a random player and then summon an ice dome, covering a wide area. Don’t panic and run away from the targeted area covered in white as the icy zone deals nasty tick damage. Utilize the grappling hook strategically so you can get out faster than just running and rolling.

Afterward, she will attack your team like usual, but with higher damage. However, there are two important things to note this time around.

  • Her cannon can shoot an ice beam that will freeze you solid for around 3 seconds. It might not sound much but not being able to move is a matter of life and death.
  • As she points her arm cannon at one of you, two Amplifier cylinders will show up on the gun— this is her Frenzy weak spot. Use your best Fire weapons to destroy them. We know, it’s really hard to aim at it and the white skybox/backdrop doesn’t help either.

If you fail to deal enough damage during the Frenzy, don’t worry. After the third ice dome, she will go back to normal. Pump as much lead as you can and it’s rinse and repeat until Dead Bride is down and The First Descendant raid is finally over.

Lastly, try to defeat the trash KingFisher mobs when they’re on a platform– not when they’re floating above the lava. This way you can safely grab the ammo drops and refill your guns instead of risking the heat tick damage. Don’t forget that there’s an Intercept Support Droid ammo dispenser bot too at the spawn platform! While it can’t refill General Rounds, it’s still a decent way to stock up your other guns.

With proper builds, such as boss-melting Gley, you can try defeating her in Private Void Intercept since there’s no multiplayer health adjustment. We hope you have an easier time dealing with Dead Bride with our The First Descendant boss guide. Or, you know, ask a friend or wait for a chad random to carry you.

The First Descendant is available on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
