Common and Jennifer Hudson might end up walking down the aisle someday. Since Common and Jennifer Hudson’s relationship became public in January 2024, the pair have been vocal about their love for each other. Common‘s recent appearance on The Breakfast Club was another opportunity for the rapper to gush about his woman and their beautiful romance. During the candid interview, the 52-year-old hinted at a possible marriage to Hudson in the future.
“If I’m going to get married, it’s to her. That’s simple as that,” he told the host.
The Chicago native continued, clarifying that he didn’t mean to disrespect all the women he had dated. However, Common noted that his relationship with Hudson was healthy and beautiful.
“When you’re with somebody who’s from where you’re from, it’s a different kind of connection, too,” the actor said.
Common’s Breakfast Club interview wasn’t the first time he addressed the topic of marriage with Hudson. While speaking to Hoda Kotb on Today in January, he confirmed he was the marrying type. Common told the host he had the capability and capacity and might want to tie the knot someday. When asked if Hudson was “the one,” the actor said he would know when the time was right, as he would hear from God.
Besides discussing marriage on The Breakfast Club, Common also talked about how dating Hudson had impacted his Chicago visits. It turns out that Common and Jennifer Hudson’s relationship and the rapper sharing the same hometown with his woman made things more enjoyable.
“I’m going to be real real with you, like, having a lady just from Chicago allows me to go home and just be home,” he told Charlamagne tha God.
Common explained that he hadn’t enjoyed going home and being surrounded by loved ones for the longest time. According to him, dating a Chicago native made him realize how important it was to return to his roots. Overall, Common said spending time with Hudson back home helped him recharge and release his new album, The Auditorium Vol. 1. It appears Common and Jennifer Hudson are deeply in love. Hopefully, things will remain that way for a long time.
