Best Cradle Overrides in Once Human (Cradle Override Guide)

Don’t forget about these

This article is over 1 years old and may contain outdated information.

Either Once Human failed to tell you in its brief and rushed tutorial or the UI doesn’t exactly help in the matter, but you can be even more powerful with the help of Cradle Override passives. You start unlocking these as soon as you defeat the first area boss (in the starting region at around Level 10). You unlock more slots as you progress. However, you can only equip up to eight Cradle Overrides. So I recommend making room for what I consider the eight best Cradle Override options in Once Human once you’ve unlocked the slots.

You can actually mouse over the Cradle Override slot on the right to see which boss unlocks it. However, it won’t tell you the level requirement and location. These bosses are typically part of the main quest. But in any case, here’s your boss hit-list for the Cradle Override slots:

Boss/SiloRecommended LevelLocation
Ravenous HunterLevel 10Monolith of Greed, Dayton Wetlands (northwest)
TreantLevel 20Gaia Cliff Monolith, Broken Delta (center)
ArachsiamLevel 30Mirage Monolith, Iron River (northeast)
Shadow HoundLevel 40Monolith of Thirst, Chalk Peak (center)

You’ll be near the max level of 50 in Once Human as you get closer to unlocking the final Cradle Override slot. They are also quite grindy since you need to meet the level requirement or the fight will be hard. Hence, picking good Cradle Overrides is almost mandatory. These are the best among them below.

They’re practically passive buffs and some of them are weapon-centric. But I will still recommend those weapon-exclusive Cradle Overrides since certain weapons perform better than others in Once Human.

These get unlocked automatically as the season progresses. If some are not available, then simply wait a bit more.

Cradle OverrideEffectPurpose
Long-Range EnhancementDMG +20% when holding sniper rifles or crossbows.
30% chance to automatically reload one bullet from the backpack upon defeating a target.
Sniper Rifles are overall the best all-rounder weapons in the game.
Automatic Weapon EnhancementDMG +20% when holding SMGs, rifles, or LMGs. Reload 10% of magazine capacity from reserve upon defeating an enemy.Good value, especially for clearing mobs.
AgilityAfter rolling, DMG Reduction +15% for 4s.Great for boss fights.
Brawl BoostDamage from humans -20%, effect halved after defeating a human player.Great for either PvP or human NPCs with ranged weapons.
Tactical ComboWeapon DMG +25% for 4s after switching weapon or reloading.Great for Sniper Rifles & Crossbows.

Some of these cannot be used with each other so just swap them out depending on the weapon you’re using or the enemies you’re fighting.

The rest are more focused on elemental and status effects which depend on the weapons you’re using. You can change them out depending on your equipped weapon or preference. The ones above are simply great for general gameplay or any content.
