On Tuesday, the rapper took to his Instagram Stories to give his followers a glimpse of the chaos. Inside his 50,000-square-foot abode, the 37-year-old captured footage of muddy water surging through his home. The clip showed Drake’s assistant frantically trying to seal off living areas and a walk-in wardrobe from the invading waters. Drake also waded through the flood with a broom, the dirty water reaching up to his shins.
However, despite the mess, Drake found humor in the situation, poking fun at the murky water’s resemblance to a cocktail. “This better be Espresso Martini,” the rapper captioned the video. In a short while, the clip of Drake’s Toronto mansion getting flooded went viral, sparking reactions from fans. Many mocked the Toronto native with some Lamar disses. Recall that the Drake and Kendrick Lamar feud reached new heights on July 4, 2024, when the latter released the video of his diss track Not Like Us. Fans saw the flood situation as the perfect opportunity to use some lines from the track. “Hey hey hey hey, run for your life,” one fan wrote underneath The Neighborhood Talk’s repost of Drake’s flooded Toronto mansion video.
A few others also mocked Drake with the same line. Some fans mocked the icon with the popular phrase “when it rains it pours,” with one adding that Lamar “sent the waters to finish him off.” Others couldn’t help but share hilarious thoughts on the song Let It Rain by Bishop Paul S. Morton, playing in the background. “Now why did yall add this song 😂😂😂,” one fan commented. Well-meaning followers also questioned the need for such a mansion if it couldn’t withstand flooding. They noted that the property wasn’t built properly and urged Drake to sue the builders. Fans hope Drake and Toronto residents will recover from the devastating floods that hit the Ontario Capital.
