Beyonce made sure to rep both her country and her 2024 cowgirl era as she introduced Team USA at the 2024 Paris Olympics. The R&B queen made headlines last Friday for a televised show of support for the U.S., one shouting out the red, blue, and white flag colors and mixing in some cowboy action.
Giving a nod to her Act II: Cowboy Carter album, released in March, Beyonce went star-spangled in a bathing suit and glittery cowboy boots, even throwing in a remix of her “Ya Ya” track in the video. When photos of the Grammy winner were circulated by Just Jared, users slammed Beyonce’s look, with many saying that she had basically become a white woman.
Beyonce Reps Team USA At Paris Olympics
Looking fierce in her skintight one-piece, Beyonce chose a look that hugged her every curve. The former Destiny’s Child member wore stars and stripes on the lower part of her bathing suit, sticking to white up top and with “USA” written on the front.
Meanwhile, a pair of knee-high cowboy boots covered in 1,000 crystals added plenty of pizzazz, with Bey also giving a nod to her cowgirl era as she rocked a blue cowboy hat with pops of red and white.
Completing her look with a billowing open robe in red and white, the mom of three couldn’t have been more #USA, but she wasn’t met with love. In a caption, Just Jared wrote: “Beyoncé gets into the patriotic spirit to introduce Team USA for the 2024 Paris Olympics in a newly released video.”
Fans Saying She’s Become White
Beyonce has been rocking her blonde cowgirl look since the March release of her album. Fans have been remarking on her appearance on her Instagram, and they definitely did in these photos.
“If she is so proud to be black why is she trying to be white?” the most popular comment read. While another fan asked “Who is this white lady?” a further user echoed the thought as they said: “That’s not Beyonce. That’s a white woman.” The wife to Jay-Z was even asked if she’s now “Caucasian.”
Elsewhere, users picked the photos apart as they wondered if the images had been edited.
“More photoshop impossible.. from her skin color to the size of her legs. What going on?” one asked.
The Paris Olympics have so far proven star-studded. Singer Lady Gaga went full cabaret with her opening performance, with attendees also including actress Salma Hayek and singer Ariana Grande. Beyonce made sure to share her look to Instagram, with the one-piece earning her over 1.3 million likes in a share posted two days ago.
