Welcome back, it’s been a while. But as you can tell from the title, we’re offering up Titanfall 2 to appease our lord and savior, RNGesus. Of course, Titanfall 2 is more about skill than luck, but having the latter certainly, doesn’t hurt matters. Speaking of skill, this run’s on Master difficulty, so expect quite a few deaths. Deaths? In a speedrun? Shocking, I know. The runner is An Angry Albino, and the final time is an hour and fifty not counting load times. Add those in and it’s an hour fifty-three.

Well gosh, RNGesus, prove us wrong right at the start, why don’t you. There’s an element of chance involved early on with how the Spectres spawn, meaning they could potentially just flatten you rightย in the first mission. On the other hand, skill comes into play when Albino gets a speed boost by executing a series of moves: a sprint, jump, crouch in midair, then jumps again the moment his feet touch the ground. Incidentally, his run through the pilot’s gauntlet is a few seconds slower than the world record 17 seconds by Deadlokked, but we’re not here for the gauntlet, are we? Take notes, you might pick up a few tips to use yourself.
Titanfall 2’s campaign is really justย something else to do outside the multiplayer mode, but that doesn’t mean Respawn left it half-baked. It’s a nice experience all on its own, and as you can see from the video, it can get downright unforgiving, and there are even some feels to be had. Sequels have it tough – they have to improve on their predecessors, and they must do so without the sense of freshness the first game in a series gets to lean on. That being said, Titanfall 2 did so many things right, and it’s more than worthy of the positive reception it enjoyed early after its release.
