Pete Davidson is known for his work on Saturday Night Live, as well as his stand-up routines. However, recently, Davidson has been dealing with more and more mental health issues that have led him to check himself into rehab from time to time. The most recent rehab visit was in July of 2023. Pete is trying to better himself and his overall mental health as he suffers from borderline personality disorder.
While it had been about a year since Pete Davidson checked into a rehab center, People reports that the comedian entered one again on July 31st. The 30-year-old is “taking some time” to focus on his mental health. This is coming after almost 200 live stand-up shows and the filming of his newest Netflix special. Pete “will often check himself into rehab.”
Pete Davidson Has Been to Rehab Multiple Times Over the Years
Davidson has been to rehab many times over the past few years. He also tends to make jokes about it, which is likely his way of coping. In September of 2023, Pete joked that he was “fresh out of rehab.” He also stated that he had that “post-rehab glow.” The King Of Staten Island star has always been very open about his mental health issues.
Back in 2018, Pete Davidson announced that he had been diagnosed with borderline personality disorder (BPD). He believed that the anxiety and depression he suffered during the time was due to heavy marijuana use. However, it was, in fact, due to his BPD.
Davidson is also very open about the medicine he takes to battle his diagnosis. At the time of the 2018 interview, the meds Pete was taking had “stabilized him after many years.”
Pete Davidson checking himself into rehab when he feels the need is most likely the best way for the comedian to stay on top of things. Not being scared to seek help is always the first step, and Pete is seemingly trying his hardest to better himself.
