The Festering Gel is among the first deviants that you’ll be able to equip to your Cradle in Once Human. It’s small, gel-like creature with a yellow color. It’s incredibly useful in battle and helps create a shield around you to protect against enemy attacks. Let’s take a look at where to find the Festering Gel deviant in Once Human and what it does.

You can get the Festering Gel deviant as a reward for defeating the Rift Entity in the Monolith of Greed. Going through the Monolith as a part of the Welcome Back story quest. To active the Monolith of Greed, you need to activate at minimum five Rift Anchors in the Dayton Wetlands area.

After activating the five Rift Anchors, you’ll immediately be given a pathway on your map that leads to the Monolith of Greed.

Clearing the Monolith of Greed

Clearing the Monolity of Greed is easy. The boss is the Ravenous Hunter, and is only at Level 10. You will easily be able to take it down with a few well-timed shots of your weapon. The Rift Entity is really just there to show players how to handle future ones. After it’s been defeated, you can had into the Monolith’s basement area and complete it.

You also need to find all of the crates in the area including gear crates, weapon crates, and the Mystical crate. We wrote a guide that details exactly where each of these crates are located.

What Does the Festering Gel Do?

Festering Gel is a combative Deviant in Once Human. There are two major abilities that it has:

  • Flawless Fortification.
  • Build Fortification.

Flawless Fortification gives you the ability to throw Festering Fel, knocking back enemies and creating a short wall wherever it lands. You can take advantage of the wall and hide behind it. As for Build Fortification, it just creates the short wall that you can hide behind. However, the wall gives you and your allies an additional four health and two sanity per second.

Although this Deviant is part of the Combat category, it primarily just gives you shields to hide behind and minimal additional health. Other than that, it does not outwardly attack any enemis.
