Kevin Spacey is not letting go of his property weeks after it was sold at a foreclosure auction. The actor fell from grace after a slew of sexual assault allegations were leveled against him starting in 2017. Although Spacey emerged victorious and was found not guilty in all cases, his financials didn’t escape unscathed. He couldn’t meet up with some of his bills, and his house in Baltimore was foreclosed. However, the House of Cards actor isn’t willing to give up his home, even when it has a new owner.
Sam Asgari, the new owner of Spacey’s home, complained about the actor’s actions in a new interview. He purchased the waterfront mansion for $3.24 million at the foreclosure—a far cry from the $5.65 million the actor paid seven years ago. However, almost three weeks since becoming the legal owner of the property, Asgari hasn’t been able to gain access because of Spacey. The real estate investor revealed to The Baltimore Banner:
“Right now, he’s refusing to leave. He’s asking for six months to leave the property without paying anything.”
Asgari claims he contacted Spacey’s lawyers to negotiate to get their client out of the property, but to no avail. However, the actor’s attorney denied the allegations in an email to the publication. “The accusation by Mr. Asgari is false,” Edward U. Lee III said on behalf of his client.
Kevin Spacey Owes ‘Many Millions’ In Aftermath Of Sexual Assault Lawsuits
Asgari’s allegations come almost two months after Spacey publicly discussed losing his home during an appearance on Piers Morgan Uncensored. When host Piers Morgan asked, “Where do you live now?” the Baby Driver star answered:
“Well, it’s funny you ask that question because this week, where I have been living in Baltimore is being foreclosed on…So the answer to that question is I’m not quite sure where I’m going to live now.”
When asked about the state of his finances, Spacey revealed he is on the brink of bankruptcy. However, he managed to “dodge” it. The 65-year-old fought back tears while explaining his massive debt, saying, “I still owe a lot of legal bills that I have not been able to pay. Many Millions.” Nevertheless, Spacey assured that he wouldn’t back down and “get back on the horse.”
