Despite being out for over a year now – recently celebrating that anniversary with a bunch of perks and goodies – Blizzard is still hard at work updating and patching Overwatch and it’s characters. Alongside introducing the Lunar Colony Assault map into the Public Test Region, the most recent patch has also changed some characters rather drastically.

Reaper receives a considerable buff with the latest patch, as his healing skill, “The Reaping,” now converts 20 percent of all of the damage done to the hero reaped into that specific number of health. The passive ability will no longer require players to pick up orbs from the down enemies either.

Mccree also received a small buff, as his “Deadeye” Ultimate now accumulates more damage in the first seconds of activation.

While Roadhog receives a tiny buff, reducing his head box size to “to increase his survivability,” the vast majority of the update reduces his power considerably. The rotund Aussies scrap gun now fires 30 percent faster but does 33 percent less damage according to the patch notes. Its clip size will also increase from four to five rounds.

Roadhog’s hook, one shot combo has been deadly to characters with lower health like tracer and Lucio, but the update will make the squishier heroes able to escape a lot easier since it will no longer be a one shot kill. It’s a big change to the character, but non-Roadhog advocates have complained about his hook for a long time, even after the first nerf, so it looks like Blizzard is making the other aspect of hooking players less powerful instead.

But it’s not all bad, as the update will also introduce Oni Genji and Officer D.Va skins to the loot box reward system, two skins previously only unlockable through playing Heroes of the Storm. Overwatch director Jeff Kaplan promised players back in April that they would make the skins available soon after many expressed frustration having to play a different game to unlock what many see as some of the best skins in the game.

The Career Profiles section will also see a revamp, adding a bevy of different new or updated sections to the statistics available to the players to look over. But It’s not the end of the world Roadhog fans because just like with previous Overwatch patches, there is always the possibility Blizzard will fix it in the next round.
