Do you remember those rumors floating around about Bruno Mars being in debt? Earlier this year, an anonymous source claimed the singer owed MGM over $50 million after gambling too much in Las Vegas. While the casino has since denied the rumors, fans continue to joke that Bruno Mars is supposedly broke. Luckily, he doesnโt seem to be offended. In fact, heโs even joined in on the joke himself thanks to Lady Gaga.
Are Rumors of Bruno Marsโ Gambling Debt True?
On Wednesday, Aug. 28, the star reposted a video of a fan who poked fun at the โrealโ reason behind Lady Gaga and Bruno Marsโ new collaboration. โLady Gaga on her way to get Bruno Mars out of debt,โ they captioned the video, which showed the fan dancing along to the pairโs latest single, โDie With A Smile.โ Many fans have shared similar videos on TikTok joking that all funds made from โDie With A Smileโ will go toward Bruno Marsโ gambling debt.
However, MGM has made it clear that Bruno Mars doesnโt owe the company anything. After an anonymous source told NewsNation in March that the singer โowes millionsโ to MGM, the company released a statement claiming it wasnโt true. Following his mutiple Las Vegas residencies, MGM told Variety that itโs โproudโ of the โrelationshipโ it has developed with him over the years. โMGM and Brunoโs partnership is longstanding and rooted in mutual respect,โ it said. โAny speculation otherwise is completely false; he has no debt with MGM.โ
The company ended their statement by saying it hopes to continue working with Bruno Mars by โcreating unforgettable experiences for our guestsโ together.
While rumors of Bruno Marsโ gambling debt first rose in March, it recently resurfaced after he and Lady Gaga released โDie With A Smileโ on Friday, Aug. 16. Since its premiere, the single has become a huge success. It debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and has been trending all over social media.
