Simone Biles is fresh off her three gold medal wins at the 2024 Paris Olympics and already has big plans for her future in the sport. And what does that entail? Well, the most decorated gymnast in Olympic history has plans to do away with one of her most iconic moves, the Yurchenko double pike, aka Biles II.
The move helped Biles win at this year’s Olympics, but according to her, it’s time to retire it. And what better way to announce it than through her official Instagram page, which boasts an impressive 12.8 million followers. In the post seen below, Biles sits on top of a gymnastic vault and, in its caption, she writes, “Rest in peace yurchenko double pike.”
In the comment section, fans supported Biles’s move; one user wrote, “Thank you for giving us the gift of this amazing vault! You are truly the goat!“
While Biles has retired one of the stunts that made her famous, likely because it is one of the more dangerous moves for a gymnast, she is moving on to bigger and better things.
