Selena Gomez wasn’t slammed as she stepped out in L.A. two summers ago, but fans did appear to take pity on the singer, whose plunging dress was deemed unflattering by many. Showing off her curves while arriving for her Jimmy Kimmel Live appearance in June 2022, Selena rocked a retro green dress with an off-the-shoulder finish, but talk in The Daily Mail‘s comments was mostly about the look being a poor choice.
While many fans said that they just weren’t feeling Selena’s dress, one user gained likes for saying that it was “sliding off her.” The 32-year-old was also body-shamed, with one user calling her “overweight.” The star has since made headlines for addressing her weight gain being linked to managing her autoimmune Lupus condition, although fans in 2022 were already well aware that she was battling the disease.

Strutting confidently on a concrete sidewalk, Selena sizzled in her forest green number, choosing a ruched midi dress that perfectly flattered her curvy frame.

Sporting dramatic dark eyeliner and eyeshadow, Selena channeled slight goth vibes into her makeup, completing her glam with a flawless face of foundation and her dark locks tied back.
Fans Think The Dress Is Hideous
Users didn’t hold back. “Whoever dresses Selena is not a good stylist,” one fan said, with over 200 others agreeing. “It’s the wrong dress for her,” another stated, with a third agreeing as they wrote: “The dress is sliding off her.”
Also sending Gomez the thumbs-down was a fan responding: “She needs a better stylist – one who realizes that she does not have great upper legs. She’s a beautiful girl but has a horrible stylist.”
Selena’s fans have largely embraced her confidence and raw weight reveals this year. The Texas-born star, who underwent a life-saving kidney transplant in 2017, confirmed in January that whether or not she takes her Lupus medication can affect her weight, namely the amount of water she retains.
Selena’s new curves also haven’t interfered with her love life as her 2023-commenced romance with boyfriend Benny Blanco continues to heat up. The 36-year-old songwriter and producer has even revealed that he sees kids with Selena as part of his future plans.
