Emma Watson faced a tough crowd as she stepped out onto the red carpet in a strapless ballgown dress for the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 premiere. Making instant headlines for her high-profile appearance in NYC, the 34-year-old dazzled in a skintight bustier dress while going strapless, but she wasn’t met with the best feedback as The Daily Mail shared the photos.
Going dramatic with dark eye makeup to match her bronze-colored gown, Emma highlighted her petite frame in her elegant number, but fans weren’t sold. As users slammed Emma’s Bottega Veneta number, some said that it was “ill-fitting,” with others calling the dress “vile.” Emma now fronts rival Italian brand Prada Beauty — shop the Prada Beauty Paradoxxe fragrance Emma is signed to below.
Emma Watson Stuns In Strapless Dress At ‘Harry Potter’ Premiere
Opting for a corset-like bodice in earthy tones up top, Emma drew the eye to her toned shoulders and arms while flaunting her tiny waist.
Allowing her bodice to feed into a rich silk skirt in bronze, the Harry Potter star afforded a ballgown feel in her floor-length look, one boasting fabric folds and a regal finish. Ditching the bra and hiding her shoes as she struck poses on the red carpet, Emma wore her hair swept back into a chic bun, also sporting a heavy face of matte makeup with tons of cheek-enhancing bronzer.
Users didn’t take long to comment.
Told Dress Is ‘Ill-Fitting’
Gaining more than 500 likes was a fan replying: “I’m sorry, but the dress Emma is wearing in the top photos is just awful. It looks like she pulled down the curtains in her hotel room and wrapped them around her waist.”
Trying to turn their comment into a positive one, another user said: “Beautiful girl in an ill-fitting pretentious sack but she makes it look almost nice.” Meanwhile, a third called Emma a “lovely” girl, but they couldn’t help but call the dress “ugly.”
“I’ll probably be red arrowed, but i think that dress is vile and she looks so miserable!“ a further fan stated.
Emma has since risen to become a total style icon. The Beauty & The Beast star, who has been the face of British designer Burberry in the past, landed her current Prada Beauty ambassador gig in 2022, commencing as the face of its Paradoxxe scent.
Emma now fronts the entire Prada Beauty division and dedicates most of her Instagram to promoting the luxury brand.
