On Aug. 29, it was reported by TMZ that Artem Chigvintsev had been arrested on domestic violence charges following an alleged incident with his wife, Nikki Garcia (formally known as Nikki Bella). The news shocked fans, but reports have since alleged that the couple’s relationship was “volatile.” Now, everyone’s eyes are on Nikki as she decides what to do about her marriage: will the couple try to work it out, or are they headed for a split?
Neither Nikki nor the Dancing with the Stars pro dancer have addressed the incident publicly, and, at the time of publishing, both still have photos of each other on social media. This includes their emotional tributes to each other in celebration of their wedding anniversary on Aug. 26.
To make the situation even more complicated, Nikki and Artem share a son, Matteo. It has been reported that Nikki and Matteo have remained in their family home, but Artem is not currently living with them. She has also been seen without her wedding ring.

“Friends are telling Nikki she married a monster,” a source told Life & Style. “And she wants out.” These claims are the opposite of how Nikki allegedly viewed Artem at the beginning of their relationship in 2019. “In the beginning, Artem swept Nikki off her feet. He was her dream man,” a source told the outlet. “She’s always been a romantic. But reality set in, and now Nikki doesn’t recognize him as the man she married.”
Nikki Garcia and Artem Chigvintsev have not had a fairytale love story. They have been open about attending counseling before to try and work through the issues in their marriage. The Life & Style source has also alleged that Artem has a “temper” and is “impatient at times.”
They continued: “Nikki made excuses for him, saying it was because he was so passionate about his craft.”
The source also alleges that for Nikki the relationship is over, as they claim she is “determined to take her son and get out of the marriage. A split is bound to get ugly.”
Only time will tell what the future of Nikki and Artem’s relationship will be.
