Ubisoft introduced a few new IPs at their E3 press conference, but one extremely exciting one is the pirate based action gameย Skull & Bones. It looks to combine some intense ship battles with some unique multiplayer aspects, all set in the backdrop of the golden age of piracy. Batten down the hatches and shiver me timbers – let’s see whatย Skull & Bones is all about.

Skull & Bones will let players climb the pirate hierarchy, forming gangs with their friends or sailing the seas solo. It looks to feature multiplayer ship combat, and a variety of PvE and PvP modes. Check out the reveal trailer for it below:

In addition to the announce trailer, Ubisoft also released some gameplay footage and information about just how the game will function. They showcased how one gameplay mode, a 5v5 team based scenario called “Loot Hunt,” will work. It features some intense looking battles, pirate boarding, and a risk reward system between collecting loot and watching out for approaching enemies. Check out the trailer for Loot Hunt below:

Finally, the announcement ended with a few mysterious ideas: one was that the game’s world will evolve around player actions and decisions. The other was that there was a giant kraken lurking beneath the surface of the ocean. So don’t get too comfortable with your ill-gotten booty.

Any competent pirate game garners some attention, andย Skull & Bones looks like an excellent and intense adventure on the high seas. Here’s one final video about the basics behind the game.ย Skull & Bones comes to PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One next fall.
