Devolver Digital is the team behind Hotline Miami and Genital Jousting, so it’s not the boldest statement to say they have some imaginative minds. But even knowing their cheeky sense of humor, it’s likely you wouldn’t have imagined they’re first ever conference at E3, which stream last at 10 pm EST on Twitch, would…well satirize the conference that was hosting them.

Instead of showcasing any of their upcoming games, Devolver Digital   put on a show displaying many of the tropes that are always on display at E3 and most other conferences for that matter. To combat an over clappy crowd, Chief Synergy Officer Nina Struthers pulled out a gun and shot it in the air to quiet them, muttering “You are professional journalists.”

The skit also featured sporadic cuts to “members of the audience” laughing or reacting to something in a way that doesn’t really make sense. This continued throughout the 15-minute conference as Devolver mocked the oversaturated nature of camera cuts to the crowd, of whom don’t seem like they are genuinely reacting to the news but are overacting.

But the best part is hands down (pun intended) the introduction of their brand new concept titled the Devolver Digital Screen Pay. Their “device” allowed the user to throw money at your screen to pay for things in games, which eventually eats the hand off said user.

We’ve all seen some cringy moments at these conferences, so it’s nice to see someone in the inner circle address it in a funny way.
