This article is over 1 years old and may contain outdated information.

It’s been over a year since the reveal trailer, and the launch window of 2025 is three months away; are you as anxious as I am to learn more about Marathon? The developer’s remake of the game has been all but completely removed from the spotlight since then. However, Bungie has finally decided to break its silence and reveal the price and what we can expect from its class and hero system.

Sources close to The Game Post reportedly revealed that the game will be priced at $40, largely influenced by Sony’s massive success from Helldivers 2. Additionally, players will be able to purchase standard battle passes and items from cosmetic shops. Those same sources also revealed that we shouldn’t expect Bungie to reveal anything about the game until spring 2025. So, it looks like we won’t be seeing Marathon before April.

Bungie Will Reveal More Marathon Information Spring 2025

The original reveal trailer for Marathon in 2023 showed only a small portion of what we can expect from the developer’s take on the 1994 game. Based on the new information revealed, Marathon‘s class/hero system is comparable to that of Apex Legends. The difference will be that the former will give players more customization options. Customization will also be extended to the gear and guns found during sessions.

It seems that Sony also is really relying on the game being released in 2025. With this new information, that might be tough, especially after Bungie replaced Game Director Cristopher Barrett with former Valorant-director Joe Ziegler. This change brought on several internal changes, like including a hero/class system. The addition of that system also forced the developer to downscale the originally intended puzzles and secrets. So, a 2025 release might actually be possible. I’ll keep my fingers crossed, but we will see what happens whenever Bungie decides to host a Marathon showcase.
