This article is over 1 years old and may contain outdated information.

Typically, when you imagine a game from the Silent Hill franchise, you think about how the original ones were exclusively available on the PlayStation. Since its original release, the games have branched out and have released on other platforms, but that seems to be changing with the release of Silent Hill 2 Remake.

The remake, starring what looks to me to be Mads Mikkelsen in a James Sunderland cosplay, is set to release in October of this year. Fans have been so excited, in fact, that they took particular notice of a specific detail from within the new Immersion trailer. It looks like fans hoping to play the game on their Xboxs are going to have to wait a year.

Will Xbox Ever Get Silent Hill 2 Remake?

Usually, the confirmation regarding when other platforms will be receiving a console exclusive doesn’t come until after its launch. I mean, look at titles that PlayStation releases and how long it takes for them to get on PC, if they ever do. However, that seems to have changed with a cheeky message at the very bottom of the console’s advertisement at the end of the trailer: Not available on other formats until 10.08.2025.

There are a few commentators under the YouTube video who seemingly try to explain why the hushed announcement was made. One even made a connection to the DualSense controller and the success of of Astro Bot.

“This trailer is a direct response to Astro Bot reinvigorating interest in the PS5 controller. Sony needs to market what the controller can do and incentivize developers to use it more. This is a step in the right direction. The dual sense really is an incredible piece of technology.”

Impressively, the new trailer really does show off what the controller can do, including haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, and a dynamic light bar. Hopefully, the later release of the Silent Hill 2 Remake on Xbox means that Game Pass may also receive it, meaning that subscribers will be in for a treat. I’m also hoping that by the time the game hits other consoles, the most complete version of the game will be what’s made available.
