With increasing tension around the upcoming elections, several high-profile figures have stepped forward to endorse their preferred candidate, giving their stamp of approval. Although Harry and Meghan are yet to endorse a candidate, the duo has made their contribution to the US political sphere in their own way.
The Sussexes’ charitable organization Archewell Foundation shared a statement encouraging unregistered voters to “register to vote.” The statement, on the foundation’s official website also included a “call to action” for every registered voter to join the campaign to convince more people to vote. In the statement dated September 17, National Voters Registration Day, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Archewell Foundation shared the strategy they’ve employed so far to facilitate this cause ahead of the US elections.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Team Utilize Personalized Letters to Boost Voter Registration
Notably, the Archewell team, in honor of Voters’ Registration Day joined forces for the volunteer activity, looking to support and empower communities. Enlisting the help of Vote Forward’s letter-writing tool, the team sent out personalized letters to potential voters, encouraging them to register. The statement continued,
“Voting is not just a right; it’s a fundamental way to influence the fate of our communities. At The Archewell Foundation, we recognize that civic engagement, no matter one’s political party, is at the heart of a more just and equitable world. By participating in initiatives like this, we aim to amplify the message that every voice matters.”
Going further, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Archewell Foundation team enjoined voters to lend their voice to the political cause by writing letters to unregistered voters they knew, tapping into Vote Forward’s tools. They also included a registration link on the website which potential voters could utilize for their registration process.
While the Sussexes are opting for a neutral stance this year, the duo took a more hands-on approach during the 2020 elections. In honor of Voters’ Registration Day that year, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle appeared in a video encouraging voter registration ahead of the US election Day. The video marked the couple’s first joint TV appearance after their UK exit to begin a new life in California. Harry and Meghan have made more TV appearances since then, leaving a trail of royal controversies in their wake.
