Steam has always been synonymous with amazing deals – so much so I’ve started a weekend series to list the best ones – but there is no greater time for the quantity and quality of them than summer. The savings officially begin Thursday, June 22, as Steam’s Summer Sale returns.
Starting at 1 p.m. ET your favorite PC games will start to be discounted. This news comes from PayPal UK’s official Twitter account earlier this week. Paypal is also offering it’s UK customers £5 off of a purchase of £20 or more so long as you’re shopping through PayPal.

But don’t fret, as Gaben and company have proven in years past that they will offer unspeakably good deals in the upcoming summer sale. This year was big for both AAA titles and indie games alike, so keep your eye out for discounts on Game of the Year contenders like Thimbleweed Park, Pinstripe, Prey and Resident Evil 7.
The sale doesn’t discriminate against older games either though, as you can be sure to see classics like Skyrim, Rocket League, Dark Souls and Undertale was thrown into the mix as well.
The Youtube video above created by NotAnAverageJoe epitomizes that like the Rebels with Vader, no gamer is safe from the onslaught of games that are about to go on sale. Even if you don’t need it, or are likely to never play it, you will find yourself buying games left and right for the simple notion that you can’t pass up the deal.
