Speaking to The Daily Beast, a source who is friends with Camilla revealed that the Queen opposed a potential meeting between father and son. The friend established that the monarch’s wife was in fact the principal voice blocking any chance of a reunion between the duo, which is an important step in their reconciliation. Per the source,
“She has been the principal voice urging Charles to slow down and take things easy. The last thing she wants him to do is to get stressed out over a meeting with Harry.”
While her alleged stance may seem selfish, Queen Camilla’s reluctance to have King Charles meet up with Prince Harry comes from a place of concern. The Queen reportedly witnessed the last reunion between Harry and the monarch, which took place in February this year following the Kings’s cancer diagnosis. Friends claim the Duke of Sussex never apologized for his brutal remarks against Camilla in his memoir, Spare where he described her as a villain.
This reluctance to set things right is a major contributor to their strained relationship, as the monarch reportedly has zero tolerance for anyone dissing his wife.
