Olivia Dunne has received mixed feedback on her celebratory birthday photos, shared earlier this week on Instagram. The LSU gymnast marked turning 22 years old on Monday, updating her account with glam, girly shots of herself with her birthday cake.
Posing from her bedroom as she modeled a plunging printed playsuit with a leggy finish, Olivia flaunted her incredible figure while rocking a glittery tiara, also welcoming dog Roux as she struck poses and was photographed laughing. While the post earned Olivia over 400,000 likes from her 5 million+ followers, it raised eyebrows when The Daily Mail covered the share. Here, users said that Olivia looked “ridiculous,” with one fan gaining likes for suggesting the star was somehow “degrading” herself.
Gymnast Olivia Dunne Shows Instagram Her Birthday Cake
Caught mid-laugh in her opening snap, Olivia highlighted her killer legs in a lace white one-piece with pops of pink prints.
Channeling her inner girly girl with her light hair down and that tiara, the blonde posed by her unmade bed, one adorned with balloons in pink and red. Showing off her curves and her frosted birthday cake as she held a bottle, Olivia continued with a bed-set photo of herself licking her cake before smiling with the cake’s candles all lit.
Flashing her silhouette via a low neckline in some photos, Olivia also showed off her toned thighs in the final snap, one seeing her sitting on the floor and laughing as she held her cake while looking at her dog. In a caption, the rising sensation said: “Woke up a lil older #22.”
Told ‘Degrading’ And Looking ‘Ridiculous’
Users on The Daily Mail weren’t too complimentary. “Only a matter of time until she loses the attention she badly craves. Then she will have an only fans. People like her will do anything for attention – even degrade themselves,” one user said, gaining over 100 likes.
Another, meanwhile, thought that Dunne looked “ridiculous,” with a third writing that she was “using her body for income.” Olivia, who rakes in seven figures from her high-profile endorsement deals, has been criticized for her skimpy outfits on Instagram, but she’s also defended her looks.
In 2023, the Vuori Clothing partner opened up to Elle. Standing her ground, she said:
“It’s not a girl’s responsibility how a man looks at her or how he acts, especially when you’re doing your sport and that’s your uniform. I can’t help the way I look, and I’m going to post what I feel comfortable with.”
Olivia is followed by over 8 million on TikTok and has, since 2021, been the most-followed NCAA athlete on social media.
