Netflix has been popping out some fabulous original series, with the next one appearing later this week on July 7th. Castlevania the animated series has created quite a bit of hype, as fans look forward to its release this weekend. The producer behind the show, Adi Shankar, has already been contacted about making an Assassin’s Creed show for Netflix in the same style.

Shankar posted on his Facebook page earlier today telling fans that Ubisoft had directly contacted him with the hope that he would be interested in creating an anime series that focused on a new original character and storyline in the Assassin’s Creed universe. The producer’s post read as followed:

I’m happy to let you guys know that I’ve selected my next project! I played the first edition of Assassin’s Creed the year I moved to Los Angeles to pursue my dream. At that moment I knew absolutely no one in the industry and could never have imagined that one day Ubisoft would ask me to take the world of Assassin’s Creed and create an original story set in it as an anime series. If anyone tells you not to follow your passion in life they are wrong.

Unfortunately, that is about all we know as far as details go about the new Netflix series. All we can really hope for is that it is better than the movie adaptation starring Michael Fassbender. Luckily, in case you are so excited you just can’t wait, the newest iteration of the Assassin’s Creed series, Assassin’s Creed Origins, is set to release this fall. This part of the series will take place in ancient Egypt and will go farther back in time than any of the titles before it to 300 B.C.
