Where I live, cyclists tend to have the right of way more often than cars do. However, they also understand they can’t harass drivers for simply existing on the roadways. The elderly cyclist who went viral a little while ago for harassing a young man, claiming to “have more rights,” is one example of this. However, it seems like there was more to the story than we had initially known, and now, it has come out that he received a citation that he genuinely believes he doesn’t deserve. Fortunately, the police body camera footage of the interaction was released to Reddit so you could judge for yourself.

Cyclist who went viral for harassing a man for "driving too close," nearly has a panic attack after police tell him *he* will be receiving a citation. "Oh come on man, I was the victim here"

The original video showcases the 77-year-old cyclist verbally and physically harassing a young man for allegedly driving too close to him. Because of the gentleman’s actions, the police were called, and given what the officer saw, he decided to give the young man a ticket and the older man a misdemeanor citation. However, upon hearing this, the older man suddenly decides that he would rather apologize, not understanding why he’s getting a citation for getting “too hot.”

The officer very calmly and reasonably explains every action that the elderly cyclist had displayed from the video evidence given to him by the younger man justifies the citation. Honestly, the the man didn’t really leave much to the imagination in the video. To that, the elderly man quite literally replied with,

“Oh come on man, I was the victim here.”

The replies to the video are filled with people excited that justice was finally served. In fact, many stated that they’ve been waiting for an update on the situation since seeing the original video. Hopefully, they got exactly what they were hoping for because I know I did. Now, let’s just hope we don’t see another video of this guy harassing innocent drivers on the internet soon.
