Many consider the banners of Version 2.6 to be in a highly precarious position because of their chronology. This is mainly because many players are already looking forward to the reappearance of Tingyun or Fugue since her “demise” after the fight with Phantylia. Add to that a new chapter in Sunday’s story after all the conflict he caused in Penacony. Independently, this update has excellent choices of 5-star characters; three of them are great DPS and one of the best current Tanks. Whether the Honkai Star Rail 2.6 banners are an easy skip or not depends greatly on the rest of the characters you already have in your roster.
Who is the Best Character in Honkai Star Rail’s 2.6 Banners?
The first phase of this Version has Rappa’s debut banner, which is why many doubt that she can be a good character in their teams. Rappa’s kit makes her an excellent character for Break Teams, and although she can’t place Imaginary weakness, she excels at ignoring the enemy’s Resistance. This ninja stands out more for MoC, as she can clear tons of enemies to take advantage of her full potential. In the rest of the game, Firefly and Boothill stand out more. Besides, Rappa has the disadvantage of needing several 5-star teammates, who are also from Firefly teams. So, if you already have SAM and her team, maybe it is best not to pull for the colorful ninja.
Next to Rappa, in the first banner phase of Honkai Star Rail 2.6, is also the re-run of Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae. This Vidyadhara is another great DPS with a fun mechanic where you need to focus on getting more Skill Points to attack more enemies. This is why the ideal partner for Imbibitor Lunae is Sparkle, as she can get more Skill Points for him. Of course, this dragon has perfect 4-star companions and Light Cones, so it will be easier for F2P players to get a decent build for Dan Heng. This character is STILL not a victim of power creep and is still relevant to the gameplay. So, if you want to improve his attack more, try to get his E2.
Phase 2
Acheron is part of the second phase, and if you don’t have her, you should consider it. Even though Acheron is a Nihility character, she is one of the best DPS, thanks to her Ultimate. This Emanator has several team options, with 5-star and 4-star characters, but for her companions, it is best to bring two other Nihility units. The more debuffs the enemies have, the more DMG your Acheron will do. For her Light Cone, her Signature is the best to make your life easier, although it is not a must.
If you don’t have a Tank, Aventurine is your go-to guy. This gambler provides excellent shields and Effect Resistance to his team, so it will be challenging for enemies’ debuffs to work on him. Aventurine’s teams are quite flexible, as he can accompany FUA teams, IPC members, Acheron, or Robin. If you put Acherony and Aventurine on the same team, you had better have his Light Cone; otherwise, you would have other 4-star LC options.
Ultimately, Acheron is one of the best options and one of the characters that will help you to clear any challenge without any problem. Although if you need a Sustain, Aventurine is worth every Stellar Jade. Rappa depends a lot on your preferences; she needs a lot of investment for her ideal build, and the other Break DPS stands out more.
