Prince William reveals a tiny bedroom detail that he and his wife Kate Middleton practice, which most dog owners can relate to. The Prince and Princess of Wales tied the knot in 2011, beginning their journey as a royal couple. The duo expanded their family since then, boasting three children who are fast growing to become the next generation of royals. Aside from their three kids, though, Kate and Williams are dog parents who are more attached to their family dog Orla than one might expect.
Earlier this month, the 42-year-old took residence at Adelaide Cottage on Windsor grounds two years back and visited Duchy College in Cornwall. During the visit, he had an exchange with one royal fan, Louise Harland, and couldn’t have enough of stroking her dog. Recounting the encounter to Hits Radio Cornwall this week, the dog owner shared tidbits about their conversation, including a cute revelation about his and Kate’s bedtime experience with their furry companion, Orla, per Birmingham Live. She divulged,
“William said that his little dog sleeps on the bed with them at night, with him and Kate. He was absolutely in love with my little dog. He asked what breed he was, and he’s never met one of those breeds. He’s a Cockerjack, so he’s a little bit of a unique combination.”
Notably, while Prince William and Kate Middleton have become attached to their little puppy Orla, another dog, Lupo, previously held that spot in their hearts and lives. Lupo, who passed away in November 2020, was a wedding gift from James Middleton, Kate’s brother. The Wales royals have since grown accustomed to having Orla as their family dog, residing in the five-bedroom abode with them.
Kate Middleton and Prince William have also remained great parents to their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. The trio has experienced a whirlwind year, watching their mom battle an undisclosed form of cancer. Determined to let their kids have as normal a life as possible in the heat of it all, the Prince of Wales stepped in to fill his wife’s shoes, assisting in every way possible. Whether as dog parents, doting parents, or simply royals committed to impactful patronages, Prince William and Kate’s affection and good nature always shine through.
