Karens tend to have the habit of popping up where they’re absolutely not needed. Do we ask them to? Nah. Do they do it anyway, regardless of how ridiculous it makes them look? Of course they do. No matter the time, location, or situation, they’re there to cause chaos. In this case, a Karen takes to her local Dollar Tree to speak her mind about the manager to an innocent cashier who hasn’t done anything wrong, and it ends up turning into a full blown, one-sided screaming match, which of course appeared on Reddit.
Honestly, there are just some things that you really shouldn’t do in public. Creating a scene over something as minor as not having someone at the check-out counter right away definitely falls under that category. This Karen, posted by @Rave4Life79 on Reddit, apparently didn’t get the memo. She was frustrated over the fact that there weren’t many employees working, but it seemed as if the manager was on-site at her local Dollar Tree, and wasn’t manning out of the check out lanes. If you’ve ever been in a management role, then you surely know that there are quite a few more responsibilities to tend to in that position, and the manager was probably just busy.
This Karen definitely didn’t think of that, or even care. She immediately goes off the rails, talking about how she’d just had a surgery two weeks ago (As if that’s even relevant information), and this was her first outing since being released from the hospital. Apparently, she was displeased that she wasn’t getting first-class treatment at the freaking dollar store. The result was this wild lady, slamming items down on the check-out counter and screaming at the cashier for the manager not doing her job.
It’s clear that the Karen was very much in the wrong here, and Redditors made sure to voice their opinions on it in the comments. “It’s dollar tree. The employees definitely hate their job enough without peop0le like this laying into them for sh*t that isn’t even in their control,” one Redditor said. Another pointed out that she was “Belittling everyone who works there. Yet, she’s shotting there. She stupid.” That’s one comment I definitely can’t disagree with. Finally, another comment read, “Lady, you’re shopping at the dollar store,” followed by “Should have had that attitude surgically removed.”
