After deciding the fate of Minrathous and Treviso, you will enter Act 2, where you can accept various new quests. During your second visit to the Arlathan Forest, you can encounter an anguished spirit on the boat. The woman will ask you to help the poor souls who have received dark fates before their deaths. To complete the Spirits of the Dalish quest in Dragon Age: The Veilguard, you have to explore the forest and uncover five tragic locations.
How To Complete Spirits of the Dalish Quest in Dragon Age: The Veilguard
When you enter Act 2, you can explore even more areas within the Arlathan Forest. Luckily, the game will mark the general locations that you have to visit to complete the Spirits of the Dalish quest in Dragon Age: The Veilguard. However, since the game is rather realistic, some players may have issues locating the corpses since many of them blend in with the environment.
Here are the locations you need to visit:
- Ruins Reach
- Shadowy Grove
- Ancient Aqueduct
Ruins Reach
The first corpse can be found within the Ruins Reach area. There will be falling rocks that will attempt to break your head in this zone. Just keep moving and avoid standing inside the red circle that shows up randomly.
You can find the first corpse underneath a large boulder on the southern side of the marked area. The poor soul died after wandering into this zone during the night and got killed by a falling boulder.
Shadowy Grove
The second corpse in the Spirits of the Dalish quest is located on the southern side of the Shadowy Grove. Be careful when venturing into this area since many monsters and automatons are roaming around. You can find the item you’re looking for on top of a boulder near the wall.
The Blood Splattered Journal tells the story of an unknown person dreaming of becoming one with the earth. It seems they’ve been transformed into trees after encountering some form of dark magic.
The third corpse can still be found within the Shadowy Grove. Just head to the eastern area, and you will find a broken mirror in the corner of this zone. As usual, take care of nearby monsters before you start your investigation. The Ripped Page expands more on the Dalish clan story. They accidentally found an Eluvian mirror that corrupted the clan members after they tampered with it.
Ancient Aqueduct
The fourth corpse in the Spirits of the Dalish quest is located within the Ancient Aqueduct. You will also find an owl statue here, but be careful since it’ll summon monsters. To find the Dalish clan corpses, you need to jump into the burned boat and examine the remains.
The final corpse is also located within the Ancient Aqueduct. Just head north and follow the river until you find a tear in reality. You will need to stand close to this bright light until it is about to explode. When the red circle appears on the ground, jump back to avoid getting blown up. The explosion will reveal the corpses of the Dalish clan members.
How To Perform the Rite in Spirits of the Dalish Quest
Although you have uncovered the tragic fate of the Dalish clan, the spirit is not appeased yet. One of your party members will tell you that you must help the spirit let go before it turns into a demon. Luckily, you don’t need to go far to perform the rite.
To complete the Spirits of the Dalish quest, you need to walk up the slope behind the owl statue. Then, use Harding’s ability to move the resonant slab to open the path. You will find a broken device that Bellara can fix. It will open a portal that you can jump into to reach the ritual area.
