With strength comes challenge, and Jake Paul and Mike Tyson definitely drew some strong viewership in their recent match. Jake Paul notably won against who was once considered one of the best heavyweight boxers ever. Even so, it seems he has no time to rest after another popular YouTuber/influencer has risen to challenge Jake Paul. The YouTuber in question is none other than IShowSpeed (Darren Jason Watkins Jr.) and he thinks he can beat Jake Paul.
IShowSpeed was invited to a press conference at ComplexCon on November 18 where he was part of a guest panel. The YouTuber star then brought up something that might prelude what’s about to happen in the next months or so.
“I feel like I can beat Jake Paul in a fight. Look, I respect his work ethic, but when I watch him box, he doesn’t look fluent. I feel like I could really get him. When you watch it, you see flaws in his game,” claims IShowSpeed.
Naturally, this caught Jake Paul’s attention, and just about everyone else’s attention. It’s a straightforward challenge. IShowSpeed was even bold enough to boast that he could beat Jake Paul within just six months of training.
So now, Jake Paul’s manager, Nakisa Bidarian has offered IShowSpeed a $20 million deal for a boxing match. To be more specific, the offer is for a $10 million signing payment (should IShowSpeed accept) and the winner will get an additional $10 million. So win or lose, IShowSpeed will get $10 million.
This could very well be the social media highlight of 2025. Every influencer will likely want to fight Jake Paul now not just because he “defeated” Mike Tyson but because it’s also a lucrative way to earn millions.
Jake Paul reportedly made around $40 million after winning against Mike Tyson while the latter made $20 million.
Will IShowSpeed Accept?
Now that Jake Paul’s team is actually willing to set up the fight, the decision lies with IShowSpeed whether he’ll accept or not. At the moment, IShowSpeed hasn’t responded to Jake Paul’s manager yet.
It’s worth noting that this isn’t the first time IShowSpeed has entered the ring. If you can recall, IShowSpeed once made a guest appearance in WWE where Randy Orton gave him a good old RKO. Needless to say, it didn’t exactly go well for IShowSpeed (physically) though, in his defense, WWE is more performative than combative.
IShowSpeed did receive a special gift from Randy Orton after that RKO: a Tesla Cybertruck. Depending on how the hypothetical fight with Jake Paul goes in the next few months (hopefully), IShowSpeed may or may not get a similar special gift.
