It seems that nowadays, you always have to be ready for a fight. It doesn’t matter what time it is or where you are; someone might come tumbling out of nowhere and wreck your entire day. Fortunately, we are in an age where anything can be recorded on your phone, even by accident. A video reposted to Reddit depicts a birthday surprise that turned into an all-out brawl.
The video is in the point of view of a couple sitting at a restaurant table on a New York City sidewalk. The man across from the person recording is looking back at an interaction that is happening off-screen. However, you can hear the commotion. Just then, a waiter comes out with a cake sporting a sparkling candle and brings it over to the table. Suddenly, the off-camera fight comes into view, and before anyone can do anything, one of the men tumbles onto the table, throwing the cake off and hitting the guests.
Of course, the fight doesn’t end there and spills out to the rest of the sidewalk. Why the men fighting couldn’t just do this anywhere else is completely beyond me. However, it’s safe to say that the first-person view of the entire situation was pretty hilarious. Commenters were quick to reply that they had thought the fight was initially part of the surprise.

Others tried to bring a bit of humor to the table, despite just about everything that could have gone wrong, did go wrong.

It did seem like a pretty aggressive shove to the table, and there’s a moment where the seated man jumps away to prevent being hurt. Hopefully, besides the men involved in the fight, the guests celebrating their birthday and the waiter weren’t injured.
