Stalker 2 has just made it into the hands of the players, and everyone has instantly pointed out some of the game’s bugs and technical shortcomings, while others have embraced it and are enjoying every single vanishing or clipping object. GSC Game World has admitted that Stalker 2 isn’t the most stable game out there and that the “rough edges” will be improved upon in the near future with patches and updates.

The game had a very tough and prolonged development cycle, which included relocating the studio due to the political situation in the region. The game finally came out today on Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Game Pass.

The developer took to X (formerly Twitter) and explained how it is “incredibly proud” of its game and went on to say that although the game is out and about, it is far from being a complete package. The kind of game that Stalker 2 is, it has many bugs that are fairly easy to notice, but then again, GSC Game World has never made a game of this scale.

The team is keeping an eye on fan feedback and will use it to fix as many of the bugs as possible. Now that the game is out, expect a lot of hotfixes that rectify some of the most common issues. Once that is done, the developer promises larger updates for Stalker 2 along with free in-game content. More details and the entire Stalker 2 roadmap will be revealed in December.

GSC Game World has big plans for the Stalker universe and now that fans have been reintroduced to it, now is the best time for the series to solidify its foothold as one of the OGs in the space. Stalker 2 is currently only available on Xbox Series S|X and PC and has over 110,000 players on Steam.
