This article is over 1 years old and may contain outdated information.

The wig-wearing, large sunglasses-toting, gaming streamer Dr Disrespect has been out of the limelight for some time after it was exposed in 2020 that he was having inappropriate conversations with a minor in 2017. Since then (and let’s face it, since far before), the streamer, famous for streaming battle-royale-specific games like Fortnite, has had a difficult time on any other social media platform. However, it looks like right-wing extremist social platform Rumble is more than happy to take him in.

Rumble, founded in 2013, is a video-hosting platform similar to YouTube that specifically attracts conservative and right-wing users. Over the last year, the platform has been looking to grow its gaming category and have officially invited Dr Disrespect to stream and host videos exclusively with them. The announcement begins with announcing that the streamer has joined the platform alongside the agreement that he will provide exclusive content to the Rumble Premium paid community. Rumble Chairman and CEO Chris Pavlovski shares his excitement as well.

“Rumble is in a new era, and I’m laser-focused on expanding into two categories: gaming and crypto. Dr Disrespect will give a much-needed injection into our gaming category.”

The announcement acknowledges the streamer’s previous accolades as a top streamer and provides information about when and where he will begin. It even adds buzzwords like the names of the AAA games he frequently streamed to lure readers in. Unfortunately, with this information comes the realization that the streamer who has several controversies, including livestreaming a public restroom at E3 2019, is again being given a large platform.

The announcement ends with a few words about Rumble, stating its mission to “restore the internet to its roots by making it free and open once again.” Somehow, it almost feels like a threat, letting anyone who reads it know that they will continue to uplift those who should probably not be entertaining anyone. Hopefully, there aren’t too many children on the app to limit the potential of more people growing up to be like Dr Disrespect.
