Travis Kelce‘s ex-girlfriend, Kayla Nicole, recently broke down in tears over their “overwhelming” breakup. The moment happened on Season 3 of a Fox reality show called Special Forces. The series puts a number of celebrities and influencers through tough physical tests and is designed to test their physical and mental strength. Also on the cast is Real Housewives star Denise Richards. She’s joined by the NFL’s Cam Newton and Kardashians star Brody Jenner.
During a sneak peek of the new season, Kayla, who began dating Travis in 2017, said the public split has been difficult. Later, when one of her co-stars asked who she was linked with, Kayla whispered, “Travis Kelce.” A few fans commented on the scene, calling it “cringe.” They continued, slamming her for crying over an “ex from three years ago.” Someone else chimed in, seemingly agreeing. They called Kayla a “clout chaser” before saying her fifteen minutes of fame ended a long time ago. “She has no talent, and this is all she can do is talk about her ex.”
Kayla Has Spoken About the Travis Breakup Before
Although the tears from Travis Kelce’s ex were surprising, it was not the first time she had spoken out about her relationship with him.
As readers are likely aware, Kelce has since been in a high-profile relationship with Taylor Swift. In October 2024, Kayla Nicole spent time with Angel Reese and discussed the public backlash she’s received since Kelce and Swift became an item. As she spoke with the WNBA baller, the fitness influencer said the comments have been difficult to deal with. “You could go to my most recent posts and people would be debating why I am worthless,” she said.
She continued, saying that because Taylor is so famous, she can’t control the comments that come her way.
“It has nothing to do with me,” she said. “I think there is something about that level of fame that attracts crazy people.” She went on, saying it’s “unfortunate because I don’t think I have done anything to warrant that kind of backlash.”
Fans responded to this on the Daily Mail‘s webpage, saying Nicole needed to find a way “forward.”
“She is not the only woman who has dated a partner for 5 years off and on, and one partner moved on,” they wrote.
Kayla Thinks Taylor Ruined Her Relationships With the Chiefs’ WAGS
Kayla’s breakup with Travis Kelce isn’t the only thing bringing tears to her eyes. In November 2024, news broke that Nicole was upset with Taylor for coming in between her relationship with the wives of Chiefs players.
In a previous report, Kayla said that she and the girls simply weren’t as close as they used to be.
“We are not as cool as we once were,” she said.
Given her previous comments, it seemed like she was hinting at Taylor being the reason for the distance. This would make sense, considering she made headlines last year after unfollowing Brittany Mahomes on Instagram.

That’s a lot of history and friendship there; that doesn’t change overnight,” she continued. “But publicly, because things are happening so quickly and so publicly, I have to protect myself. That’s really all that is. The love is still there.”
