This article is over 1 years old and may contain outdated information.

As you chase after Faust, the man will directly tell you to find him in an abandoned base called Clear Sky. Since this area is extremely dangerous due to anomalies, you can’t just stride to this location. Skif must find a dependable guide who can lead him to his destination. While there are two bases that you can visit, you only need to pick one. The In Search of a Guide quest will eventually lead you to reunite with a familiar-looking person in Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl.

At the start of the In Search of a Guide quest in Stalker 2, you can go to Shevchenko or Sultansk to find a guide. During my playthrough, I decided to go to the Sultansk and speak with a guide named Ducat. There will be a new dialogue under the regular fast-travel option.

The man will refuse to bring you to Clear Sky but tell you to speak with a guy called Richter. Luckily, Richter is also nearby, but he will refuse your request. He’ll tell you to find another guide named Nimble, who’s currently working with a trapper. You need to head southeast to meet with the Trapper.

Nimble has gone missing, and you can only find the Trapper in the area. A group of mutants will attack your area when you finish speaking with the man. You can either ditch the Trapper or help him fight off the monsters. Once the area is safe, head to the new coordinates to enter the Snork Cave.

When you enter the tunnel, you will find numerous dead mutants and hear the sound of gunshots. You must progress through the tunnels to find Nimble in the In Search of a Guide quest. Here’s the path you need to take to find the guide:

  1. Enter the cave and walk straight toward the light.
  2. Turn left and walk past the dead mutants.
  3. Ignore the exit path and head right.

When you find the man, a cutscene will start, and the guide activates a bomb that will blow up the tunnels. After fighting off the last living mutant, Skif realizes that Nimble was the man who attacked him in the beginning. The two men will get into a scuffle, with Skif being the winner. You now must decide whether to kill or spare nimble in the In Search of a Guide quest.

Unless you really hate Nimble, I recommend sparing his life. Although he had attacked you and worked with Faust, the man isn’t loyal to them and was just doing his job. If you kill him, you can loot his body to find a way to reach Clear Sky. Besides some consumables, you can find Nimble’s PDA and Professor Kalancha’s Map.

On the other hand, Nimble will willingly tell you about how to reach the base if you spare him. You will also get some coupons for your mercy. The amount of money you get will depend on your difficulty settings.
