Outrage as DoorDash Delivery Driver Caught Stealing Cat on Camera: ‘I Would Go Straight Liam Neeson’

Crossing the line.

A DoorDash delivery turned scandalous after a driver was caught on a Ring camera not just dropping off food but allegedly stealing a cat. The shocking video, originally shared on TikTok and now making rounds on Reddit, shows the driver leaving the order, then driving down the road, stopping, and coaxing the cat off the porch into her car before driving away.

The footage has sparked intense online debate, with some viewers defending the driver’s actions while others are appalled by the apparent theft.

The incident begins innocently enough, with the driver delivering food to a customer’s home. However, the video takes a turn as the driver returns moments later, calling to the cat with the classic “spsps” sound.

“She thought she was out of the camera view,” speculated a user on Reddit, adding, “She drove down a bit and tried to lure the cat without getting too close to the house.” Another quipped, “Do you not realize that Ring cameras exist?”

The theft has ignited fierce discussion online. Some viewers expressed outrage, labeling the act as brazen and unethical. “I’d go straight Liam Neeson,” wrote one Redditor, referencing the actor’s iconic line about seeking vengeance in Taken. Another joked about hiring John Wick, given the lengths people go to for their pets.

Others, however, suggested the driver might have thought the cat was a stray. “People justifying cat theft thinking the lady stealing will DEFINITELY provide better care. What a joke,” remarked a commenter. Another added, “You don’t know what the cat’s life was like before. What you did is at best take in a stray and at worst steal someone’s beloved pet.”

A significant portion of the discussion centers around the ethics of outdoor pets. Some commenters suggested the cat’s owners bear partial responsibility, with one writing, “Hopefully the owner has a safe place for the cat in the backyard instead of putting it where opportunists can strike. Build a cat enclosure or catio.”

Others disagreed, arguing that the cat’s outdoor status doesn’t justify theft. “You can’t just steal an indoor-outdoor cat and claim it’s abused,” one Redditor said, summarizing the frustration many pet owners feel when others assume their pets are neglected.

Whether the cat’s owner will press charges remains to be seen. In any case, the Internet is not letting this alleged “catnapping” fade into obscurity.
