Sony Insider Crushes Bloodborne Fans’ Hopes & Dreams: ‘This is Nothing’ After Remaster Expectations

We really do suffer more in imagination…

With the success of remakes and remasters this year, it was only fair for Bloodborne fans to expect or even anticipate at least a remastered version of the old FromSoftware game. However, a PlayStation insider was quick to quell these hopeful assumptions, going so far as to shut down any expectation for an announcement from Sony on the upcoming 30th Anniversary of PlayStation.

The PlayStation insider in question is none other than Jeff Grubb from Giant Bomb. This was what he tweeted in response to the growing rumors and speculations about Bloodborne:

I promise you this is nothing https://t.co/u7GuM7gmfQ

That’s because a couple of days ago, Bloodborne announced a scheduled server maintenance happening on December 3, 2024. If you’re out of the loop, that’s the same date as PlayStation’s 30th Anniversary, for which Sony may have an event prepared.

Hence, Bloodborne fans have convinced themselves that it’s not a coincidence and that perhaps Sony also has something in store for Bloodborne. That something is presumably a remaster at the very least since there’s nothing else for the title (apart from being ported to the PC platform or a sequel).

But then, Jeff Grubb just had to swoop down and rain on everyone’s parade. He does seem confident that there’s nothing happening for Bloodborne right now and in the near future. So that’s something to keep in mind in case you were losing sleep from anticipation for next week.

It Might Be Best Not to Expect Anything

In fact, even the PlayStation’s 30th Anniversary event is still unclear. So far, what Sony has done is prepare a mere webpage for the PS1. For all we know, absolutely nothing might happen on December 3, 2024. Or perhaps Sony is preparing a big surprise to catch everyone off guard.

Other expectations include a God of War trilogy remastered and perhaps new game announcements though don’t hold your breath. Sony seems excited for neither Bloodborne, God of War, nor the PS1.
