A video clip is going viral on Reddit of the moment a man stops a robbery with a spectacular flying high kick. A pair of thieves on a moped mug two women walking through streets at night. They seem to have stolen a bag and gotten away when a man appears out of nowhere and sends the pillion passenger thief flying. As the saying goes, not all heroes wear capes.
The original footage looks to be from a CCTV camera or similar, since the perspective is stationary. The clip begins with two women walking together down a street at night. A moped pulls up. The pillion passenger hops off and proceeds to mug one of the women, throwing her to the floor. In a flash, the thief is back on the moped, making a clean getaway.
But it’s not to be. Out of nowhere, a man in a white top sprints into view, heading straight for the moped. He takes an astonishing leap and flying high kicks the pillion passenger thief in the helmet. Sadly, there’s no audio, but you can almost hear the crunch. The thief crashes to the ground as his accomplice drives off and the hero grabs the bag. Let’s just hope he returns it to the women.
The move has Reddit united in amazement. “Holy f*** that jump!” one commenter exclaimed. Others speculated that the man had secretly been training for this moment his whole life. He saw the opportunity to do a good deed and didn’t let it pass. Let’s be honest: many of us would be too shocked or afraid to act. But not this guy with his flying high kick. As one commenter accurately put it, “Every man daydreams of doing this one day.” Another called it “the literal male fantasy.” Personally, I can vouch for that.
The clip is a reminder that, although there are some awful people out there with no morals, there are plenty of good people too. People who don’t hesitate to act if they see an injustice like this. In an age where far too many people would film a mugging on their phones, this hero didn’t just intervene. In fact, he risked personal injury by stepping in. Mind you, when you have martial arts skill like that, maybe it isn’t such a risk.
