Rockstar Games Reaches New Milestone for GTA 6 & It’s Killing Fans with Anticipation

What were you expecting?

Grand Theft Auto 6 or GTA 6 is no doubt one of the biggest games coming in 2025. The Game Awards 2024 even crowned GTA 6 with the Most Anticipated Game award, and fans are feverishly anticipating GTA 6— so much so, that its absence is all too palpable. Well, thankfully, Rockstar Games has achieved a new milestone for GTA 6.

That milestone, like it or not, is how it has been more than one whole year ever since they dropped a trailer for GTA 6. The surprise GTA 6 reveal trailer last year– if you can recall, was released on December 5, 2023. Rockstar seems intent on killing its fans with prolonged anticipation seeing as it’s been one year and 13 days since the last GTA 6 trailer. Alas, a GTA 6 trailer 2 is nowhere near in sight.

Still, if you’re the kind of person to see the glass half-full rather than half-empty, you can take this as some kind of hope (or ‘copium’) that Rockstar will release a GTA 6 trailer 2 soon, perhaps even in time for Christmas. You know how they are.

Rockstar Games Did Have Something for Christmas

Speaking of Christmas, Rockstar Games actually released something for the occasion. The said ‘something’ would be… a Red Dead Online Christmas event. It’s called “A Merry Call to Arms,” and it’s practically a horde mode with resource and reward multiplier boosts for Red Dead Online. Here’s the exact announcement:

So, there’s still nothing about GTA 6, which has saddened and frustrated many fans. You can even check the reply thread on Rockstar’s announcement above and quickly see some fans mocking the studio’s relatively tepid holiday reveal. Many were expecting a second trailer for GTA 6 after all, since the first trailer just crossed its anniversary.

The good news is that GTA 6 is still on track to be released in Fall/Autumn 2025, which, if you ask me, is a season too dangerously close to 2026, but I digress. With any luck, we might see the GTA 6 trailer 2 soon.
