In a heist that would make even Dom Torreto proud, a delivery van carrying copies of the “Serpent God” Collector’s Edition for the upcomingย Total War: Warhammer 2ย was robbed in Milton Keynes, England. Only 7000 copies of the Serpent God edition were manufactured, and the game is scheduled for release in less than two weeks on September 28.
Regardless, developer Creative Assembly told fans that it would not affect whether or not they received their preorder. Total War brand developer Rod Bartholemew told Eurogamer:
“We’d like to reassure fans who have pre-ordered their Serpent God Edition that this incident will not affect them receiving their copy. Copies of the game obtained before launch will not be playable until the game is activated at 8am BST on launch day.”
The Serpent God edition ofย Total War: Warhammer 2 contains many extras for die-hard fans of the series. Included in this collector’s edition, besides a physical copy of the game, are:

- Exclusive Strategy Guide
- Sticker Sheet
- Canvas Map With Lizardman Artwork

It also comes with the regular preorder bonus race, the Norsca barbarian tribe. Each copy of the Serpent God Collector’s Edition retailed for $149.99, so this may turn out to be quite a haul for the culprits. There is no word on how many copies they made off with.
Total War: Warhammer 2 is the second game in the series, the first of which we quite liked, praising its rewarding gameplay and unique approach to real-time strategy. The series combines the giant battles and strategy of theย Total War series with the gritty, high fantasy world ofย Warhammer. Total War: Warhammer 2ย is scheduled to release on Windows PC on September 28, 2017.
