A Redditor called Ciaranxy accused NetEase on the Marvel Rivals subreddit of daring to match players with bots in Quickplay mode. According to them, this situation only occurred to those who have experienced two consecutive losses. The Redditor wrote that there was a high chance of the player being put in a team with four humans and two bots against a team of bots. They noted that the player would be penalized if they left the lobby. All the bots’ accounts would be at Level 1 with restricted access instead of the limited access for regular players.

The Redditor has posted several posts about the bots on the Marvel Rivals subreddit. They even attempted to upload proof of their accusation, but unfortunately, the moderators deleted it due to “self-promotion.” Ciaranxy has to write another post to ensure other fans on the subreddit know about this issue. They said they wouldn’t waste time discussing whether bots are real in Quickplay because NetEase wanted the fans to argue against each other about the issue of proof.

Ciaranxy argued that NetEase would not remove the bots in Quickplay because it boosted the retention rate of Marvel Rivals players. They believed the more time players spent playing the game, the more likely they were to buy the Battle Pass or other in-game purchases. They wanted other fans to spread awareness of this issue and demand that NetEase stop doing this.

Ciaranxy’s post has garnered attention in the Marvel Rivals subreddit. Most people seem to agree with the Redditor. One said that playing against bots in Quickplay doesn’t feel good since AI should be in AI modes. Another claimed that players who hadn’t experienced consecutive defeat could still be put into a match against bots. “I got put into a bot game after a W tonight,” one Redditor commented. Another replied that they agreed to the comment, saying they also faced bots several times despite winning the previous match.

One Redditor said that NetEase had done this before in their other games, such as Naraka and Identity V. They said it’s obvious when a player got matched with bots in Marvel Rivals since you could easily beat them. “It’s pretty boring when it does happen,” the Redditor wrote. Some fans said that NetEase could just add an opt-out option so people who didn’t want to fight bots would be satisfied.
