There’s no doubt that you’ve heard about the horrific Pacific Palisades wildfires going on in Los Angeles. The deadly flames, which have now claimed the lives of 11 people, were started in a backyard and have amassed millions of dollars in property damages. The flames have destroyed homes and forced thousands of people to evacuate the disastrous conditions. Because of the unfortunate mixture of powerful winds, the heat and smoke are carried very far from where the fire is happening. As a result, the plastic and metals of various vehicles can’t withstand the heat and melt right on the road.
In the TikTok video, the person recording walks up to a vehicle that looks damaged by heat but is not completely charred. On the floor behind the car are what appear to be large silver droplets. However, it isn’t until the person recording picks up one of the droplets with a gloved hand that it is revealed to actually be a melted piece of metal from the car itself. It’s unclear where exactly the metal came from on the vehicle, but it appears to be either from the muffler or something on its underside.
Fortunately, the car was vacated before the people inside could be cooked with it. What’s incredibly terrifying is that it looks like the driver left while they were still on the road.
“That’s insane.”
Cars melting isn’t even half of the horrible things that have happened as a result of the Pacific Palisades wildfire. Several celebrities, including Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, have appeared at the chaos site to lend their help. I’m very curious to see what the cleanup effort after the fire will look like. I can only imagine that just as many people if not more, will come to help rid evidence of the fire as they were to help put it out.
