Those who share a great relationship with their parents understand the importance of making memories that can be looked back on. For some, they can be in pictures, videos, or trips that could never possibly be forgotten. A Syracuse University graduate shared her heartwarming story of family on TikTok after her father helped her practice commuting to New York after she landed her first big job. Now, people all over the country share their stories of parents helping them out.

The TikTok video is from creator Emmie’s perspective as she walks behind her father through New York City. In it, you can see her dad lead her via train and through the crowded city streets just to show her how to get to work at her new job. Many people took to the comments to share their stories of parents doing the same. One person even made sure to recognize those parents for all the good they do for their children.

“There are so many good parents out there that go unrecognized. Nice to see this. ❤️”

Since the post went viral, there were even a few comments from prominent brands like Jimmy John’s and the Empire State Building’s social media team. No matter who saw the video, the sentiment was the same for everyone. Jimmy John’s in particular, added a hilarious comment, penning:

“all i do on this app is cry”

I had my mother help me commute to my very first job when I was 15, so I completely understand the emotional base of this. I gotta admit, I teared up a little bit while watching the video and thinking back on that day with my mom.

Hopefully, Emmie will be able to keep the video to have this memory of her dad for the rest of her life. If there’s ever an opportunity to capture meaningful moments with those who matter to you, take it!
