A shocking exchange unfolded in Beverly Hills on Tuesday, 28 January, as a prominent local influencer, Florence Mirsky, was caught on video making racist remarks directed at Mexican-American valet staff. The incident took place at the valet alley off Beverly Dr and Wilshire Blvd, and has drawn scathing criticism across social media. Mirsky, the mother and ex-wife of famed American record producer and songwriter Scott Storch, has come under fire for her racist tirade.
The 41-second clip opens in a valet parking lot and sees the influencer walking in between rows of vehicles sporting a black beanie hat, a tartan mini pleated dress, and a tan leather bag. A valet attendant follows her with his phone and asks Mirsky, “What did you say again about us getting kicked out?” To this, the influencer nonchalantly fires back, “You’re a wetback. Trump is doing good things. You guys rape and kill people.”
The influencer then proceeds to pay for a hotdog and tosses the vendor a $50 note. “Take your $50 and suck d***. Give me my change. I’m rich, you’re poor. Difference.” The hotdog vendor calmly responds, “You’re a poor soul. You’re a poor soul.” As Mirsky goes to walk away, another man nearby is on his phone recording the incident, and she approaches him, holding her phone up to his face, saying: “Wanna report me, b*****? Wanna f***ing report me? Shut the f*** up. I didn’t touch you.” The video ends with the influencer slapping the cameraman’s phone away and yelling, “Get out of my f***ing face!“
With the startling footage snowballing across social media right now, the internet was quick to chime in with their thoughts and reactions to the clip. Over on Reddit, a user succinctly summed up their thoughts, penning:

Since the video has become viral, Mirsky has taken to her social media platforms and has since attempted to apologise for her racist outburst. In it, she returns to the scene of where the incident took place, and pleads with one of the Mexican-American valet workers there, saying: “Please. So you accept my apology? I’m the farthest thing from racist possible. I told you, you’re a good looking guy with green eyes. All my partners are Spanish, Vietnamese, everything.”
In a new apology video, Mirsky claims that she was sexually harassed by one of the valet workers, who allegedly groped her. In her own words, she claims: “The valet guy grabbed my a** and I should’ve just punched him, but I was thinking about my child and not wanting to go to jail. So, I lashed out and I called him a ‘wetback’ and I’m so wrong for that. But I felt so violated. I should have just shut my mouth, called the police and that’s it. So basically, I’m explaining to everybody: I am sorry for what I said.”
While her attempts at publicly apologising are a step in the right direction, it’s fair to say that much of the damage from the racist tirade has already been done. Hopefully, Mirsky can learn a lesson from this, and stop making any hateful remarks in future.
