Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 features a day-and-night cycle mechanic. Besides affecting the environment’s appearance, in-game time also impacts NPC behavior. For example, sneaking and stealing are much easier at night, but you must also be wary of patrolling guards. While you can pass time normally by waiting, you can also skip ahead in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. Sleeping is the main method of skipping time, but there are several other methods available.

How To Advance Time in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

Here’s how you can advance time in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2:

  • Sleeping
  • Skip feature
  • Read a book
  • Fast travel

Sleeping is the most direct way to wait and skip time in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. Generally, it’s best to avoid exploring at night unless you plan to break the law. Exploring the city is also not very useful, as most NPCs will be asleep. Additionally, you must always have your torch on, or you will be fined.

That’s why I prefer to sleep through the night and remove Henry’s fatigue. Note that you can’t just claim a random bed—you must sleep in your own bed or rent one at a tavern or inn. After leaving Bozhena’s house, you can get another free bed when you become the blacksmith’s apprentice during a main quest.

Besides sleeping, you can also skip time by reading a skill book. Skill books are different from regular books and can usually be purchased from skill teachers. Reading a book takes several hours to complete and will increase your skills. However, you can only read each book once. Even so, I still think it’s a better option than simply skipping ahead since you can level up your abilities.

Another easy way to wait is by using the skip feature in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. You can press the TouchPad on PlayStation, View on Xbox, or T on a keyboard. This will bring up the clock, allowing you to choose how much time to skip. Unfortunately, this method does not reduce sleepiness or fatigue.

Lastly, you can also skip time by fast traveling to a previously visited city. However, this method isn’t particularly useful since you can’t control how much time passes. Additionally, you must change locations, so it’s best used when you want to leave the wilderness and return to a city. If you want to fast travel, simply click the blue shield icon on a settlement.
