Move out of the way Marvel and DC; the real heroes are here and go by Pengweather. You may remember him from an earlier story, a local Oakland legend cleaning up everybody’s illegal trash and litter, and he is back at it once more. This time, tackling a city infamous for its trash on the streets, San Francisco. Not only is he doing that, but he is also encouraging others to help out.

I did some massive illegal dumping cleanups in February as part of my goal to make the San Francisco Bay Area as clean as possible for generations to come.

In a post on the r/interestingasF*** Reddit page, Pengweather claims to be doing some serious work to keep the Bay Area clean. Peng states, “I did some massive illegal dumping cleanups in February as part of my goal to make the San Francisco Bay Area as clean as possible for generations to come.” As he did in Oakland, he is looking for places where people are illegally dumping trash and cleaning it all up, and sometimes even paying for the dump to take his trash if he can’t coordinate with the city to pick it up.

Many folks went on to praise his efforts and how thankless his work is, but nonetheless, it should inspire all of us to aspire to help our community out.

“Thanks for helping to keep California clean! Your neighbor in Long Beach.”

“That’s an incredible effort to help the environment! Thank you for taking the time to clean up and make such a positive impact. Your work is inspiring.”

“Mother Earth thanks you! We need more people doing this type of project, ecosystems could flourish again in places that were choked out.”

“Hi. I don’t know you, though your actions speak for themselves. Please, accept my respect. This is a true act of personal responsibility for the place one happens to live in. Let there be more people who take the matters into their hands and make our world a better place. Wish we were friends man, You’re cool as hell.”

Let’s hope Pengweather continues to do his thing and inspires others to contribute just a tiny bit more to their neighborhoods. If he can clean up a place like San Francisco, then anything is possible.
